Why We Exist?
Promoting Sustainability: Glass is 100% recyclable and can be recycled several times without losing its quality. Therefore, there is no risk that the world will ever run out of glass if people keep recycling. Additionally, glass is a key ingredient in the production of renewable energy through solar panels and photovoltaic cells made from glass fibers. So by recycling glass, you promote industries that produce renewable energy.
Saving Natural Resources: Glass is made primarily of silica sand, soda ash, and limestone. Recycling just one ton of glass conserves over a ton of these natural resources, preventing habitat destruction from mining.
Calcasieu Parish: Lacking local glass-processing facility, making it expensive and environmentally taxing to transport heavy, breakable glass long distances.
Creating Valuable Alternatives: When glass can't be remelted for new bottles, companies crush and pulverize it into specialized sand. This processed sand is used for vital civil engineering needs like water filtration, road base, and even coastal restoration projects.
